Blog Guidelines and Policies

First things first, we love comments and appreciate the time that our readers spend to share ideas and give feedback. The comment section can be a great place for interaction with readers, writers and even for spawning stimulating conversation, ideas, and strengthening the darting community ty large – it can be a great place for all of us! We also want our comments to be as useful as possible to all of our readers.

To ensure every person who visits the Arlington Dart League (ADL) website has an opportunity to contribute and also learn from the comments from all community members. Before you add your contribution in the comment section on any portion of the website, please take a moment to look over and stick to the following guidelines, below.

Nearly all of the comments posted by our community members will be kept and posted to the website. We also try our best to make sure that the discussions and comments on our articles and blog posts are harassment, troll, spam and abuse FREE. However, we’re not perfect and ever-present. Therefore, certain comments may not be posted or may be deleted after they are posted.

Specifically, here are guidelines and policies (though not solely limited to these examples) of the types of comments that’ll ensure the swift removal of your comments, or potentially, permanent barring from communicating on Arlington Dart League (ADL) website.

  • Keep it professional: We welcome and encourage thoughtful, civilized, and a professional level of discussion, comments, suggestions and feedback. The ADL has sole discretion and final decision on content tor comments that may be deemed acceptable or unacceptable according to these guidelines
  • No personal attacks or harassing comments: Dialogue, conversation and the sharing of different ideas is encouraged. You may question, (nicely) argue, debate, or provide a different opinion or point-of-view to the content or other comments. However, all comments need to be respectful towards, the Arlington Dart League, fellow dart players, and any contributor leaving comments. Personal attacks on the league, the initial person to comment on a post, or any other commenters, are not permitted in this blog’s comments. Comments that attack an individual directly will be deleted. Failure to respect fellow participants on this blog or any part of the website could result in temporary removal or permanent blocked access with or without warning. Should any level of harassment deemed unacceptable by the ADL, persist by the same individuals, those users will be permanently banned from commenting on the website without notice.
  • No profanity: Comments including profanity will be deleted. Comments containing language or concepts that could be deemed offensive will be deleted. This may include but is not limited to, abusive, aggressive, threatening, pornographic, offensive, misleading or libelous language. Arlington Dart League is a professional and friendly website and blog created for dart players of all ages and levels to enjoy. Therefore, any comment that includes offensive or inappropriate language, and/or considered rude by the ADL website manager will be edited or deleted. Remember, this is a friendly community, so play it NICE.
  • Language and manners: In order to properly monitor and also respond to contributors and comments in a timely manner, blog comments must be written in English.
  • Be polite: Don’t be rude to anyone and respect others. If you write something you know would probably get you a hard smack (or punch) across your face in person, don’t be a knucklehead and write it here. Remember there is a person behind the screen and that your words affect people.
  • All rights reserved: For any comment, Arlington Dart League reserves the right to edit, delete, move, or mark it as spam. ADL also reserves the right to block any IP address that violates this comment policy from commenting, subscribing, or accessing Arlington Dart League website, downloadable PDFs, newsletters, or other existing or future resources.
  • Patience: If you follow this comment policy, your comment should be posted. Please be patient while we moderate our conversations to ensure the best experiences for our site visitors.

  • Copyright: If we receive authentic notice that a comment is in violation of anyone’s copyrighted information, the comment will be deleted, and the commenter may be blocked from posting comments in the future.
  • Spam: Don’t do it. If you do, say goodbye! Any comment deemed as spam will be deleted and marked as spam. If you repeatedly post spam, your IP address may be blacklisted from accessing the Arlington Dart League website. If you persist by trying to post spam, we’ll give you a hand and show both you and your post the door.
  • Don’t troll: We appreciate and welcome criticism towards writers/contributors here, but comments that add no value to the discussion or that are merely insulting would be deleted without exception.

  • Privacy: We only accept comments from people who identify themselves. To do so, you need to provide an authentic, verified email address to post a comment on Arlington Dart League blog and receive comment subscriptions. We will never publish your personal information on the blog. Email addresses are required for commenting, and they are not published on the blog, nor shared, and email addresses that look like SPAM will be flagged as SPAM. Accordingly, do not share private information within your comment. We will delete phone numbers, email addresses, or any other private or personal information to protect the affected party. This is not the place to exchange contact information with other visitors.
  • Limit links: We love resources as they can be really helpful sometimes, but in order to prevent SPAM and assure quality, we must limit links on the comments. Do not add more than two links in the comment. If you do so, your comment will be added for further review. DO NOT sign your comments with a backlink to your website. They will be removed.
  • Links: If you must include a link in your comment, please be aware that your comment may not be approved for posting. Be patient. Relevant links that contribute to the conversation need to be approved. Obvious attempts to promote your business, gain backlinks, traffic, or other types of self-promotion are not allowed and will be deleted.
  • Promotional comments: If a comment is solely promotional in nature, we will remove it from the site. Including a link to relevant content is permitted, but comments should be relevant to the post topic.
  • All rights reserved: Arlington Dart League staff reserves the right to edit, delete, move, or mark as spam any and all comments. We also have the right to block access to any one or group from commenting or from the entire blog.
  • Add value: A comment which does not add to the conversation, runs of on an inappropriate tangent, or kills the conversation may be edited, moved, or deleted. All SPAM comments will be deleted because they do not add value to the site. Add smart, relevant ideas that expand on an article’s premise. And to save yourself embarrassment by not knowing the details of post or asking a question that’s already been asked — please read the entire article, and all of the existing comments before you comment.
  • Off-topic comments: Drop funny references or jokes that carry the conversation forward. But refer to ‘Add value’ above.
  • Community assistance: If any member of the Arlington Dart League community finds any comments which violate our guidelines, please make sure to ‘flag’ or ‘mark as spam’ or email the league directly – our moderators greatly appreciate your support.
